in the year 1987, link started playing live in his first band, the hybrid, FEAT. his brother ross ( snout, meuscram, wishbone knees ), eventually leaving after a series of punch-ups with him. He then went on to form the brain donors who were pretty average, although it was still early days. then one day in a urinal at the palace in st.kilda he met d.d, whom he went on to form the meanies with in late 1988. After playing for around seven years, touring the world, releasing heaps of records and recording the meuscram c.d l.p WITH BROTHER ROSS, LINK called it a day WITH THE MEANIES for various reasons best left unsaid, although link tells me he was not blameless.

after a year of mental recuperation link started work on a body of songs that would later become the tomorrow people's live set. joined by nick cicer ( the buzzards ) on bass, sean grupetta ( acer ) on drums and jezza ( budd ) on second guitar they recorded their debut album, shining. the live line-up would later consist of link, sean, nick and oscar ( the land of milk and honey, the smythes ) and played many shows around australia, also releasing a couple of c.d singles before their demise a few years later. NEAR THE END of the tomorrow people, the meanies PLAYED A one off show at the hi-fi. having enjoyed that immensely they decided to keep playing and have SINCE THEN released two e.ps ( SIX suitable tracks and secrets of the ancients revealed ).

now to the matter at hand. FOR THE LAST FIFTEEN YEARS link had talked about doing a band with his partner, fiona (golden shower) AND RECENTLY GOT AROUND TO IT, FORMING THE BAKELITE AGE. THEY WERE JOINED BY NICK ( THE OXYMORONS ) ON DRUMS, WITH FIONA PLAYING BASS. tHEY HAVE RELEASED A LIMITED EDITION 7" SILVERBACK ON IN-FIDELITY RECORDS AND ALSO HAVE A SONG ON THE RICHIE RAMONES ARMY OF ROCKERS COMPILATION, WITH AN ALBUM TO BE RECOREDED SOONISH. LINK HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR A PARTICULAR FEEL AND SOUND FOR YEARS AND NOW BELIEVES HE HAS FOUND IT IN THE BAKELITE AGE. HE ALSO DRUMS IN THE EGOS AND GOLDEN SHOWER AND PLAYS BASS IN ROSS MCLENNANS WISHBONE KNEES.
